Minimalism Photography 1

1) Minimalism in photography includes color, shape, line, and texture. The minimalism is an art movement. The qualities that the minimalist photographs possesses are in the image something should catch the eye of the audience and the rest of the image should just be one simple color.

2)

This image is using a solid color and pattern. Using the color yellow for the background the focus goes right to the green leaf.

This image creates a lonely mood. I would say this subject is a young girl who sits by herself cause she doesn't have anyone to talk to and friends.

This image uses a dark color background of orange and focuses on the man walking. It appears that he is all by himself and walking himself on a long journey.

Gottfried Helnwein Cont.

The change in viewpoint change my interpretation in this image is that it's not photoshopped. The description of the image is that the man is climbing the young girls' face. The young girl is pale, has green eyes, dirty brown hair, and as you can see her lips are very chapped. The image that was taken in Ireland it has a body of water and the billboard is on land. These are both the same image's just the 2nd  image was zoomed into the girl's face. The size could affect the meaning of the image because mounting it to the billboard you wouldn't tell what's going on with the image. The location I would say a Industrial area because it is surrounded by a area of water and the billboard is on a building with a bridge attached. Who would see this image is either walking around on the area, being on their boats, and riding there cars on the road. The young girl has a blank expression on her face. It looks as if the young girl is lost and confused. For the title "The Last Girl" I think it suggests like she's the last young girl to suffer.

Respond to Gottfried Helnwein

My description of this image is there is a half a face of a young girl that has a guy hanging by a rope that looks like he is climbing up her face. I think this image would be an artistic image. I would think the image isn't photoshopped because it does look like a painting, but it could be photoshopped because of how zoomed in they are to the girl's face and having the guy really small. The meaning of this image I think is just keep climbing until you reach the top of surface. Don't never stop yourself from reaching your goal. The photographer's intent was to maybe inspire others. The image say's to me that you should never give up on yourself. The difference scale between the man and the girl's face adds to my interpretation is the man is not afraid of doing challenges by climbing a girl's face.

Lost In The World

1. The general premise of the video is people are obsessed with their cellphones. One scene it shows that people are falling down a manhole cause they aren't paying attention to where they are walking. It is not safe for people to be on their phones. These systems are failing by posting selfies and sending emojis.

2. The video is effective in conveying it's intended message because there wondering "Are you lost in the World like me?" It's saying the systems are failing. Everyone is focused on there phones. It's like your not even there in their World cause they are so focused on looking at there cell phones.

3. I feel this is a examination of our current social situation because in this video you can see it's dangerous to see why you shouldn't be on your phones. In the video, everyone has an addiction to their cellphones the little boy gets no attention from anyone. The last part of the video the little girl on the edge of the building most likely feels she ain't worth it because everyone is on their cell phones. When something happens they will record on their phone and will watch the action that happens.

What is Photography?

                                                                  What is Photography?

1. The question that Erik pose to the audience was "Is it Photography?"

2. In the video, Erik's real first passion was drawing.

3. The conception of photography that Erik previously hold is you had to be in the right place at the  right time, the process ends when you press the trigger.

4. It inspires him by he wanted to create something that began at the press of the trigger, to make    something different.

5. The "common goal" that Erik's photos have are to have an element of realism.

6. Photo realism is something that looks as if it could have been captured, that it looks realistic.

7. The principles that he adhere to when creating an image there are 3 rules photos combined should have the same perspective, the same type of light and they should be seamless.

8. It is easier to create a place rather than to find a place because one does not have to compromise the idea's in one's head.

9. He plans the photos by drawing a sketch, combines different photographs and follows the        principles.

10. Erik's conclusion is we're only limited by our imaginations.
